Blue Cross Blue Shield--2009 Michigan Health Plans

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan offers an individual health plan to Michigan residents and their families. Residents are guaranteed coverage regardless of any pre-existing health conditions, except for OneBlue (HMO). The plan includes hospital, surgical, medical, accident and Rx coverage. Maternity is also available.

  • IC Blue Plus--Our most comprehensive individual medical plan.  Plans include hospital, medical, surgical, Rx drugs, doctor office visits, and maternity--plus limited dental and vision benefits.
  • OneBlue--an HMO plan. 
  • Flexible Blue--IRS-Qualified Health Savings Account Medical Plans.  Plans include hospital, medical, surgical, Rx drugs.  Available in $1500, $2500, & $5000 deductible plans---100% or 80% coverage available.
  • Young Adult Blue (Ages 18-30); Our Lowest cost basic coverage.

Guaranteed Coverage for Michigan Residents < age 65, not on Medicare, who do not have group health coverage, except for the OneBlue Plan.

Pre-existing health conditions are covered after 180 days. However, this waiting period may be waived if you have had prior group health insurance. (See enclosed Waiver of Pre-existing Exclusion page.)
